Week 11

Sneak Peek of the Week

Week 11: November 7th-November 11th

Hello families,

I hope you are enjoying this unusually warm November weather!
Letter Land
By the end of this week, students will know all of the characters from Letter Land!  We've had a blast learning and reviewing letter sounds.  Your child has a list of Letter Land characters in his/her folder that you may use to at home.  If you need an additional copy, please let me know!
Although we'll continue to work on letter sounds, students will begin to learn sight words and letter formation.  Most of this work will be done in the small Guided Reading Group so students may work on literacy content appropriate for their development.
Writer's Workshop
Students will continue to work on their personal narratives this week.  In addition, we'll practice habits of writers by utilizing our writing folder and sharing our stories.  Also, we will add more to our stories by adding words and details to our picture.
This week we will conclude our study of 2-D shapes!  Students will work on a shape project by creating a unique geometric design.  Later this year, we'll return to geometry when we learn about 3-D shapes.  Please look out for our Unit 3 learning targets in next week's Sneak Peek!
