Preschool at Webster
We have thoughtful and bright spaces for our youngest learners at Webster!
Currently, we have a 2.5-hour Early Childhood Special Education pre-school program. This program has morning and afternoon sessions. These classes have "volunteer tutors" who are students who attend for free and join with the special education students so that they can have a broader peer group. These classes are for students ages 3-5. If you are interested in having your child join this program, please call the school office to find out if there are spaces available.
For the 2021-2022 school year, we are excited to offer two additional preschool programs: a High Five 1/2 day morning program and an afternoon program, as well Alphabet Soup.
High Five Preschool
High Five prepares children for kindergarten by focusing on the whole child. High five teachers prepare activities and lessons that focus on multiple areas of a child's development. High Five is a preschool
program for Minneapolis children who:
- Will turn four by September
- Will start kindergarten the following fall
- Live in Minneapolis
Webster will offer a Minneapolis Kids fee-based care program in the afternoon for families who sign up for and get into the morning High Five class (the cost is $17.05/day, minimum of 5 students enrolled to run the program). See the document linked below for more information.
Alphabet Soup Preschool
A three-day-a-week preschool program for children who turn 3 by September 1. This is a collaborative class between Early Childhood Special Education and Early Childhood Family Education with a parent Education component every other week. The class is taught by a licensed ECSE teacher, a licensed ECFE teacher, and a licensed Parent Educator.
