Week 13: November 21st-November 22nd
It will be a short week with school in session just on Monday and Tuesday. For this reason, I will hold on to your child's green folder for this week. The folder will go home again on Monday, November 28th when school resumes.
As you know, we are working on Counting Collections and Number Relationships in math! We are spending a lot of time developing our Number sense. Number sense refers to a child's "fluidity and flexibility with numbers" (Gersten & Chard, 2001). For instance, in thinking about the number five, a child with strong number sense may see many different relationships such as: three and two, one less than six, one more than four, recognizing a group of three and two more on a dot card, and so on.
