A bit about me… I started my teaching career in Minneapolis 7 years ago. When I’m not teaching, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I have a 2-year-old daughter that keeps me busy! I love to cook and go out to eat, go for walks (especially around the MPS lakes), read, travel, watch movies, go shopping, and spend time outside.

I believe in- always trying your best; having a positive attitude; asking questions; being a team player; and learning from mistakes. I believe it’s my responsibility to create an environment where every child will learn and be successful to their fullest potential.

My educational journey- My dad was a teacher and went on to be an administrator, so the value of education has been instilled in me since I was a little girl. I was lucky enough to play school with some old materials he brought home—and this became my favorite past time growing up. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, and I haven’t questioned it since! I have had the opportunity to teach in many settings and grade levels (including intervention groups and ESL), but have spent my recent years teaching first grade. I absolutely love watching young children grow academically and socially throughout the early years of school.

Books- My favorite children’s book authors are David Shannon and Mo Willems- especially the No, David! series and the Pigeon series. I also love “Berenstain Bears” books because I think they can teach children important lessons. As an adult reader, I enjoy anything by Emily Giffin, Heather Gudenkauf, or Gillian Flynn.

Stories to Tell- My engagement story, my trip to Argentina and other vacations, the time I broke my toe, and quotable moments from my daughter.
