Responsive Classroom Training, Level 1
A bit about me . . . Fall 2015 marks the beginning of my eleventh year in education. My classroom teaching experiences range in place from Mexico to the Twin Cities and range in grade level from kindergarten to fifth grade. I spent six years at IB schools engaging students in inquiry, action, and integrated themes of study. I’ve been honored to guide and empower students at various phases of their lives and to mentor and coach teachers! I live with my partner, Kp, and our two cats, Oliver and Theo, in Minneapolis. I love traveling, hiking, and exploring nature. Reading and writing deeply shape my life, as well as spending time with family and friends.
I believe in hope; integrity; solitude and reflection; community and collaboration; humility; curiosity; equity; the resiliency of the human spirit; joyful mindfulness; kindness and celebration.
My education journey I am deeply curious about the world and revel in learning new information! This love of learning and critical thinking/reflecting anchor my teaching and coaching practice as I continue along my education journey. I’m humbled by the insights of young children and honored to explore and comprehend the world with students and teachers alike.
Books I love poetry and creative nonfiction that unpack the complexities of humanity. I also greatly enjoy Free Spirit Publishing, a local company that specializes in exploring social emotional learning with young children.
Stories to tell-living in Ireland and Italy, teaching in Mexico, my mom’s courage and kindness, hiking in the Black Hills, searching for shark teeth and shells on the shores of the Atlantic
