The mission of Health Education in the Minneapolis Public Schools is to have students work as healthy citizens of the world to empower all students to make meaning of themselves, their bodies, and the world around them.

Our mission in Physical Education  is to enhance the healthy development of the whole child.  We exist to educate and support all students in gaining the skills, knowledge and social confidence to help students make healthy decisions throughout their lives.

Building on these missions, Physical & Health Education at Webster is about students learning practices for lifelong health, engaging in teamwork, setting goals for personal growth, understanding one's body and how to take care of it, and building the mind-body connection.

Students will be physically active every day they are at school. This will include daily recess as well as physical movement breaks incorporated into the school day. Each day will also incorporate mindfulness practices that help students build their mind-body connection.
