A bit about me… I began my teaching career at Kenwood School as a student teacher six years ago. This will be my fifth year teaching primary.
I love spending time with my husband, friends and family. I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, practicing yoga, hiking, and challenging myself with strength and cardio training classes.
I believe in-- the power of compassion, resilience, gratitude and a positive mindset. I also believe in appreciating at least one sweet or silly moment from the day-kindergarten quotes usually acccomplish this!
My education journey-- I attended public school in Middleton, Wisconsin (right outside of Madison). Looking back, I reflect on how lucky I am to have had such wonderful learning opportunities within my schools and community.
I was motivated to read at a young age, however, it didn't come as easily for me-compared to my older sister. My mom always said, "you can do this--you just need to work a little harder!" She taught me how to dedicate myself to a goal and persevere through challenges. My mother has been, and continues to be, my greatest teacher!
Books-- Although I have some personal favorites, I love discovering new books and reading aloud to children. Anytime a book can make my students laugh out loud, get lost in a story, care deeply for a character, wonder about the world, and discover new and exciting information-it's a win!
Stories to tell-- signing up for the "wrong" art class freshman year in college, re-learning how to downhill ski in Switzerland, summer nannying in New York City, swimming with sting rays, and completing the "Road to Hana" with my husband on our honeymoon in Hawaii.
