A bit about me… I live in Northeast Minneapolis. I spend time my free time with my husband, friends, and family, or enjoying some quality introvert time. I love coffee and coffee shops, creative writing, and yoga. I taught for nine years at Nellie Stone Johnson Community School – five years as a kindergarten teacher and four years as a first grade teacher. I helped to start the Spanish Native Language Literacy and Transitional Dual Language programs at the school. I smile every time I think of my former students and their families. I'm excited to help start the Spanish program at Webster!
I believe in… humor, down time, organization, efficiency, language learning, and bilingual education.
My education journey… When I started college I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study. Second term when I took Spanish, I realized how much joy the language brings me. I was fortunate to get to study in Mexico and Spain and spend a year living in Mexico.
Books… I love reading and I love the Minneapolis Public Libraries! I prefer reading real (paper) books, but I recently started using a Kindle, too – it is definitely easier for traveling!
